Blue Mountain Animal Clinic has been caring for pets in the Shenandoah Valley since 1991. What started as a small, family-run practice has grown into a full-service veterinary clinic with a team of experienced doctors and dedicated staff.
With over 80 years of combined veterinary experience, our mission is simple: to provide the best possible care for your pets in a compassionate, personal way. We’re proud to remain privately owned, so we can treat every client and patient like family.
Okra aka “Nubbins”
Okra was found as a kitten in the fall of 2024 with injuries to all four of his feet, likely from farm equipment. After weeks of treatment, it became clear he would lose both of his back feet—but you’d never know it.
Around the clinic, he’s known as “Nubbins,” and he hasn’t let anything slow him down. He gets around just fine and lives for one thing: snacks. Okra has mastered his “I’m starving” look, and so far, we haven’t found anything he won’t eat.
Scampi
Scampi is the true boss at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic. She came to us as a kitten in 2019 after a traumatic injury left her without the use of her back legs. After weeks of physical therapy—and plenty of love—she regained most of her mobility.
These days, Scampi enjoys the good life at the clinic, often found in the sunny bay window watching birds or overseeing daily operations from her favorite desk (with help from her custom “Scamp ramp”).
